Animated Icons: Best & Worst!

Another day another list! Last week's theme really took me back to my childhood. Judging all the great outfits was so much fun and made me feel nostalgic! This is a long one guys!

Charlie Brown
Luxury_Magazine

Perez: It's so hard to say this because I loved so many of the costumes, but I think this has to be my absolute favorite of the night! It's a combination of Charlie Brown being one of my favorite cartoons ever, her being ingenious enough to even think to do this, and the fact that the outfit is gorgeous. I love absolutely everything about it!
Dan: Genius idea! I would have never thought of Charlie Brown, I like it a lot but I wish she has of stripped a few of the accessories away, like the gloves and bag, I understand why she used them but I think it would have been better without.
Jack: I like the outfit and the overall idea, although as Dan said, the gloves and the bag are quite unnecessary. Maybe a different pair of shoes would match this better with the actual character.

Olive Oyl
lilsha123

Perez: This is awesome, the outfit perfectly matches the cartoon and the overall look is just pretty on its own. Olive Oyl is definitely an icon, and another creative idea that no one else thought of!
Dan: I like how she layered the skirts to get the golden stripe, and the outfit is really good but the face is nothing like Olive, it looks a lot like Betty Boop to me.
Jack: I think she did a really good job! You can tell from the layering that she put some thought into this, but her face is what kind of puts me off about it, there are a ton of different facial features she could've used to really add to it.

Daphne from Scooby Doo
Diva6723

Dan: Oh hello favorite! (along with a certain Disney Princess a little later on) I love this one, Diva6723 did a great job with Daphne, it looks like a modern take on the classic Scooby Doo hero and even her medoll looks like Daphne and the background looks spooky. I will be looking out for you at other parties from now on!
Perez: Diva hit a homerun here! I know not everyone's gonna want to invest and Star Design an outfit just for a costume party, but it really does impress me when people do!
Jack: This gurl nailed her look! Everything from head to toe is near flawless! It impresses me when people think outside the box and go to Stardesign for there outfitting needs.

Velma from Scooby Doo
Pikandchew13 ~ _chanelallday

Dan: I quite like both, neither really stand out as better than the other, I'd say chanelallday got the face spot on though she maybe she narrowly takes this one, but good effort from both.
Jack: In my opinion, these guys bit off more than they can chew (Perez Edit: no pun intended? lulz!). Their outfits lack in particular details and I'm just not really impressed.
Perez: Aww I always loved Velma, such a cutie! Pikandchew is kind of like Harajuku Velma, and _chanelallday would have been perfect had she found herself some knee socks, but I like them both.

Wilma Flintstone
LimitedEdition ~ queen-of-mean.

Dan: Again, both are good and well thought out, I like the pearls, make-up and hair on both. Well done guys.
Perez: Both outfits are very cute, but I'm going to have to declare a winner and it's definitely LimitedEdition, she really perfected this! Same as with Diva, I understand not everyone wants to or has to Star Design their outfit but going that extra mile really makes a difference and elevates your look to being deserving of Best Dressed! Although it does look like she had to edit out the sleeves of the t-shirt in Paint or Photoshop or whatever, which is cheating in my opinion! :D:D Just the dress would have been fine, it's already one-shouldered.
Jack: The way LimitedEdition layered her pearls was really creative and the rest of her outfit is really cute! queen-of-mean looked nice and she put together an okay outfit, but LimitedEdition wins this one!

Pebbles Flintstone
PrincessMilly_x

Perez: I know this is simple and nothing's really special about it, but I just think it's adorable! If she drew the bone in Interior Design then it's cute, if not then it's cheating! :P
Dan: I like the hair a lot, shame the outfit is not up to much, I feel you could have done so much better using the designer and basics range and created a much closer look to Pebbles.
Jack: I don't really get it. If you took away the bone in her hair (which doesn't really look much like a bone), you wouldn't even be able to tell who or what she was dressed as.

Judy Jetson
xxlovexx

Dan: I like this one too, Judy was a good idea and you executed it pretty well, I think your interpretation is actually better than the cartoon's outfit and looks more futuristic than the original! Great job.
Perez: I completely agree with Dan, she actually improved upon Judy's outfit! That's really saying something girl! I love all the details, the cute little bow, the white dye job, the armband and leggings, it's like a mash-up between Judy and Zenon!
Jack: I'd actually have to say I disagree. If you're going to dress as a character, dress as that character. I don't like how people are adding additional details to everything like belts, bags and shoes etc. But all complaining aside, this was a good outfit I guess. xxlovexx definitely captured the overall look of Judy!

Betty Boop
coolperson765 ~ Cheekychops1234

Dan: coolperson765 wins this one, all the way from head to toe she is Betty, job well done. Cheekychops1234 looks more Ugly Betty than Betty Boop. Why are you wearing that skirt as a dress? It's ugly as skirt so I don't know what you were trying to go for.
Jack: Cheekychops1234's outfit scared the living shit out of me. What is going on there? coolperson765 did a much better outfit by far! If only she had used a more simple pair of shoes.
Perez: I didn't even know who Cheekychops was supposed to be when I first saw her, she had to tell me. The face is creepy and the skirt is just no bueno =/.. coolperson765 looks awesome, those earrings are perfect, I love it all head to toe!

Betty Boop (b&w)
PerezStarGossip

Dan: Sorry Perez, I'm just not feeling it, I like the face and garter but the over all look isn't great. Good job your other outfits rocked! I think you could make something B&W with the new camera effects, that would have made this stand out!
Jack: I'm kind of feeling it, but I think it's just the diamond garter and fishnets that make me think twice.
Perez: I don't know, on the one hand I agree with yal because something was definitely off that I just couldn't get to work, but on the other hand I love it! Probably because I was obsessed with trying to achieve the black & white vintage effect, which may have been what was off in the first place =/

Danny from My Little Pony
SaltyDan

Dan: I hate star design, no matter how much I tried I could not get that shirt right, but I had to be Danny from My Little Pony or Eric from The Little Mermaid, because they are my favorite male cartoon characters.
Jack: I had NO idea who Dan was at first, but now I see his reference picture, I think he did a good job! The ponies also add to the cuteness!
Perez: I don't remember ever watching this show (I was more of a Care Bears girl :D) so same as Jack I had no clue who he was I just saw him and was like "Creepy ginger!" but now that I see what he was going for I totally love it. You're crazy, you did a great job with the shirt, and the freckles are off the charts adorable, nice touch! We totally should have collaborated, I would have come as that little pigtailed cutie, I would have made my ponies bigger though. Anyone that knows Dan knows how perfect this is for him, he's always been obsessed with My Little Pony! :D:D

Minnie Mouse
blueberry-dream ~ coatduck ~ mskendall4198 ~ PerezStarGossip

Dan: Perez was the best look-a-like Minnie here, everything was pretty much spot on! but blueberry-dream looks awesome, like a teenage Minnie. It looks like you all gave it a go so congrats to you all.
Perez: YES that's exactly it, she's teenaged Minnie! I loved blueberry-dream's ears, no clue how she did that but they're perfect! coatduck's dress is really cute, as always everyone gets credit for attempting to Star Design something. I knew a lot of people were going to do Minnie but I just couldn't resist!
Jack: Perez looks uber cute as Minnie! I'm not really fond of the other three though, I think they all over or under-done for me. Some people just have to think about attention to detail, it really counts!

Minnie Mouse (pink)
PrincessMilly_x ~ vitalstatistick

Dan: I love PrincessMilly_x as Minnie, she is so cute! I rather the Minnie's in the polka dot if I am really honest but Milly seems to have pulled it off. vitalstatistick obviously did not even try, nothing is even like Minnie apart from the bow and any little scene kid could be seen wearing one of those.
Jack: Neither of them even look like they tried to be honest. vitalstatistick looks like some disowned prom goer and PrincessMilly_x just fails from neck down.
Perez: I just have a soft spot for Minnie Mouse! I think Milly looks absolutely adorable, I love those leggings! vitalstatistick is sort of Minnie meets Pink Lady.

Jasmine
To_Royal ~ kieshagiesha

Dan: Dei is my other favorite, she is really stealing the limelight in these dress ups! She looks amazing here, her hair is stunning, I love the over all look but I think the jewellery is on over load a little but it's forgiven for the full on look which is beautiful. kieshageisha looks amazing too, she has the details spot on, both of you look amazing and Jasmine is one of the cutest Disney Princesses ever.
Perez: Woooh child, it's rough going up against Dei! This is the very definition of fierce, she looks divine. I have no idea how she even did that hairstyle, she's totally blowing my mind right now! As usual she uses the inspiration and completely takes it to a whole other level. Kiesha put in a great effort though, and I love how she always does something cool in her album to go with her outfit, I always look forward to seeing what she comes up with :):)
Jack: This takes me back to the Katy Perry week when Dei took an outfit and totally imploded it into a big layered mess. She's gone and done the same again this time round. I mean, don't get me wrong, the hair is perfect and the earrings look great too, but everything else is just too much. I don't understand the bracelets and the excess jewellery around her neck or why she has several golden chains hanging from her hips. I prefer kieshagiesha's outfit, it's much more simple and easier on the eye.

Maleficent
ashy_loves_you ~ Luxury_Magazine

Perez: WIN!! Maleficent is my favorite Disney villian of all time, and you two really did her justice! Luxury_Magazine's gown was expertly layered (the wooden boards? Genius!), and Ashton looks amazing I love how he used that Shrek suit!
Dan: Both of you look amazing and evil as hell, I could not pick a winner here because It's obvious you guys put some major effort in here. Fantastic work, this week's theme is very impressive.
Jack: I'm in love with the evil, darkness of this look! You can really tell maximum effort has been injected into these outfits. I like both of them, so I don't think I could pick a winner either!

Ariel
dream.on

Perez: This was completely unexpected, everyone thinks to do mermaid Ariel but no one thinks to do her as a human! I love this part of the movie where Ariel and Eric go on their date and they end up in the boat with all the animals singing "Kiss The Girl", such a great scene!! You get double the points for such an inspired choice AND nailing the outfit!
Dan: It's actually very close to Ariel and she is my ultimate favorite cartoon character, you did an amazing job dream.on. I just don't feel a spark, even though it's really like Ariel it just doesn't stand out, I don't know why?
Jack: Every detail has been matched to perfection! It's almost creepy how she got it to look so much like the real Ariel, hair and all! I also have to say I agree with Perez, who would've thought to do Ariel post-mermaid?

Cruella De Vil
freeduck_ ~ tumblr

Dan: I love Cruella, she is so evil I admire her in a twisted way...moving on...I like both once again but they are rather basic and I suppose easily achievable, I like how Jack has a puppy and a cigarette with him!
Perez: There is just so much that you can do with Cruella (besides just throwing on a coat) to really have fun with it and make it your own, but I do like both outfits and I love how creepy they look!
Jack: It was super fun dressing as Cruella, I love her! Although when doing my outfit I did use a different reference picture.

Pocahontas
AislinVictory

Perez: She can paint with all the colors of the mountain AND sing with all the voices of the wind! Suck on that!!
Dan: I really like this one! Aislin really got the outfit and face down and I love the background too, it really gives the over all look a real boost, if she had maybe put a few forest critters at her feet this would have been an amazing look?
Jack: Am I the only one thinking this was quite a lazy option? The fact that she put her doll in a forest maybe makes it look like she put a little more thought into it, but I'm not really diggin' it.

Super Mario
xChanel23x

Perez: LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! An absolutely inspired choice, I am extremely impressed with your creativity and love that you matched your suite to the outfit!
Dan: I love how you used the pop shop items to make this really authentic, even though you have facial hair it somehow retains some femininity...weird. Good weird!
Jack: This is just great! The creativity level is off the charts! MARIO FTW!

Princess Peach
mskendall4198

Perez: This is lovely, an excellent Peach and a really beautiful gown overall!
Dan: This is cute but it could have been amazing with a layer of baby pint over the dress, for contrast and authenticity. I do like it though.
Jack: Eck. Not really feeling it, a little to plain and easy for me. She could have tried something with D.I.Y items or layering, but it's a nice look as it is.

Jessica Rabbit
PerezStarGossip

Jack: WOW-WEE! Perez really went for this one and boy did she get it! Jessica Rabbit is by far one of the sexiest cartoons ever and you totally did her proud. The cartoon rabbit next to you makes this whole thing 10x better too! One of my favourites of the night!
Perez: The outfit that started it all, digging out my old Who Framed Roger Rabbit DVD and having a movie night with my girlfriends which led to my renewed obsession with Jessica Rabbit and all things animated! (BTW Star Design really pisses me off, I'd add all the little details to Roger's face and then when I went to sew it they'd be gone!)
Dan: Jessica Rabbit is hot. This is my favorite Perez look of the event, she totally owned this one and I don't think anyone could have topped it at all. Roger looks great too, how the hell do you people get so good at that?

Hello Kitty
Laurenhorse

Perez: Gia actually did an awesome sort of tutorial for this look on our beauty blog [which I completely forgot about and abandoned lol], even without the photoshop it's still a doable look. And it would have been pretty easy to recreate Kitty's little jumper. This could have been epic with a little more effort, but she still looks cute.
Dan: Shoulda, woulda, coulda! There is no effort here at all, it looks nothing like Hello Kitty. More Hell No Kitty.
Jack: What element of her outfit is meant to be anything related to Hello Kitty? 'Cause I don't see it.

Morticia Addams
yvonneelise

Jack: The Addams family was E-P-I-C. I'm really glad somebody thought about doing a character from the show, but yvonneelise's outfit lacks effort and isn't really that creative.
Perez: Yeah I remember absolutely loving this cartoon, and Yvonne looks good, I think she even has some lime green eyeshadow on! There is another hairstyle that is absolutely perfect for Morticia though.
Dan: Anyone else not know this was a cartoon series? I just remember the movies with Christina Ricci (who in hindsight would have been a good choice for a dress up, hello! The pig-tails and new skin tone scale.) but this one kind of falls flat. It's not bad, it's just nothing special.

The Joker
Chace.Clarke

Perez: It's always lucky when Stardoll has released the costume that you need, but still making the effort to get all the little details right is what really makes this such a win for me! And of course I'm just a big Chace groupie so there's that :D:D
Dan: I guess I am the only one who is not bigging this up? I mean it's nice enough but I've seen the Joker done better a long time before this. This is nothing special to me.
Jack: Just when you think the pills have been working, you catch Chace fever all over again! Another tremendous outfit here from Chace.Clarke, I don't think he has ever failed to WOW me.

Harley Quinn
hotgirl1501

Perez: I really like this a lot, and I love how she used her hairstyle to mimic the hat, very creative! It's perfectly Star Designed, and the frilled shirt underneath, the mask and smirk, it all helps bring the character to life!
Dan: Now this is amazing, fantastic job hotgitl1501, you clearly went to a lot of effort and expense to make this outfit and in my opinion it really paid off, Harley Quinn is one of my favorite villains and you did her proud here. Thank you.
Jack: It's really good, but there's just something missing...and I can't seem to put my finger on it.

Princess Fiona
Laurenboy

Perez: When did they give us a freaking Shrek suit?!? I'm so bummed I missed that! :(:( Anywayz, as usual, when someone just throws on a dress I expect them to either get every detail they can right or to completely recreate the look the way Dei always does, and this person did neither. But they do look nice.
Dan: If you had used the Tangled dress this would have been pretty accurate!
Jack: I remember the Shrek suit! I think I recycled it though :( If she had used one of the new LE dresses, this could've been a really cool get-up! (Perez Edit: OMG why would you recycle that?!?!! *shakes fist*)

Queen of Hearts
supa_star4real

Jack: ...Umm...I don't know, they just look NOTHING alike.
Perez: That's because the Stardoll costume was based off of the Tim Burton movie and not the Disney cartoon. Which brings me to the fact she could have tried to create something more along the lines of the animated version and not just thrown on the available costume, then I would have loved this, whereas here I am just underwhelmed =/ ("I know you can be overwhelmed, and you can be underwhelmed, but can you ever just be whelmed?")
Dan: I agree with Perez, this is a case of just throwing on something and hoping for the best. I think with a bit more effort this could have been good, but it's just there.

Buttercup from The Powerpuff Girls
Rascal313 ~ waifish

Perez: I really like them both, I like how Rascal used Starplaza items and added her own spin with accessories, and obviously waifish's looks identical and overall she looks cute, she even included a close-up of her head where you can see how well she did the face, hair, and make-up! Some angry eyebrows and it woulda been perfect!
Dan: waifish looks like Erin O'Connor dressed as Buttercup, no?
Jack: waifish takes this one, but what is with her background? Did she do that on paint? And her hair looks fishy too. Rascal313 looks like an angry, rejected punk...

Susie Carmichael from Rugrats
The.Chic ~ supa_star4real

Perez: OMG I LOVE THE RUGRATS SO MUCH OMG OMG!!! That is all. No actually wait there's more, just want to say that supa_star4real acknowledges that her outfit is Slutty Susie, that was done on purpose! :D:D
Dan: This is what happened after Rugrats ended, poor old Susie could not get a job in the biz so she turned to meth addiction and prostitution. Bad times. (Perez Edit: ROFLMAO!!!)
Jack: I could've sworn I saw someone who looked like supa_star4real in the car with my Dad last week...meh. I also, once again, agree with Perez. The Rugrats was officially THE SHIT.

Little Red Riding Hood
-lovely2009-

Perez: A google search assured me that Little Red Riding was in fact a cartoon as some point, I just couldn't find any pictures of it, so I chose this random one that I liked. In which her outfit is better than yours =/
Dan: A very lazy choice here.
Jack: Really? REALLY?! I have lost faith.

Marge Simpson
Gweneee

Perez: Meh, clearly she just drew the face and dress on in Paint. I mean great Marge Simpson drawing, but that's not the point of these parties lol. (Baya Edit: She didn't use Paint, she's used the Star Interior Design to create the outfit:) Ohhhh okay, well in that case she did great job!!
Dan: After Baya and Jack's revelations I think she did good, you have design skills! Make me a Paris Hilton t-shirt, please?
Jack: I remember Gweneee coming online and telling me to look at her outfit, I was pretty amazed. You guys shouldn't be so mean! She spent all morning designing the face and the dress in Stardesign Interior! BOO YOU!

Maria The Witch of Origins
sakutaro

Perez: I don't know who these Anime people are but I'm sure they're icons in Japan! :D:D This is a great outfit, really perfect overall and super cute! I love the layering and the shoes! She kind of reminds me of Gogo from Kill Bill (that totally needs to be a theme...)
Dan: This is one Anime I know, sakutaro got it really spot on too, job well done my friend!
Jack: Anime isn't really my forte, but judging by the reference picture, sakutaro did a really good job!

Beatrice The Golden Witch
sakutaro

Perez: Nicely done again with the layering babe, you were really smart to make this in the dressing room! Just in case yal didn't know, you can totally make your outfits in Starplaza, you're in no way obligated to buy anything!
Dan: sakutaro really knows her Anime and did a great job on both of her outfits! This one is my favorite of the two.
Jack: Superb layering skills here! Gold Stars for you on having the time to make two outfits!

Cloe from Bratz
Alexapie200

Perez: I absolutely hate everything Bratz! That being said, this is a nice remake of the outfit so kudos, can't hold it against you. I had no clue this was even a cartoon..
Dan: As with Perez, Bratz makes me vom, they dress like total whores and are aimed at 6 year olds, even the computer games of them are major whores, my friends sister has one and the objective is to dress as skimpily as possible to get the boys to like you. I mean its hilarious but really wack at the same time. Lame choice in my opinion and the face could have been so much better, the pillow lips are right there in the beauty parlor.
Jack: Tacky, ugly, slutty and just a giant heap of under-aged sex waiting to happen. I think I'll pass...

Armeria from Wanted
rose8971

Perez: This was the only picture I could find of this person that looked like the outfit Rose made, so I really can't tell if it's accurate or not. I can kind of see the arm-tie thingy, and stuff in her hair, so I see where you were going. Again, it's probably unfair of me to even judge because I have absolutely no idea who these people are, but the outfit does look cute on you!
Dan: As Perez said, it's kind of unfair for me to judge this as I don't know who it is. She did well with the hair details with a shell and some flowers but the outfit is pretty drab, but hey that could be exactly have the character looks after all.
Jack: I can't really say anything about this, because, as said, I have no idea who the character is nor can I see her clearly in the picture. It was good, I guess?

Natasha Fatale from Rocky & Bullwinkle
Pikandchew13

Perez: This just made me laugh! I don't mean that as an insult girl! What can I say, I love Pikandchew13 :D:D
Dan: Honestly if I saw this and wasn't told who it was I would presume it was a high class hooker having a bit of a nap after her client left.
Jack: Why is she levitating above the couch?...I like it, maybe a different hairstyle though?

Better late than never!:

Pedo Bear
The_Lunatic

Perez: She did it for the lulz!
